Daily Language Review, Grade 5 Review

I really like Evan Moor's daily practice books (language review, paragraph editing). I've used them for a few years now (grades 3-6) in my homeschooling. I like that they don't require a lot of the student's time, but they're very effective. They also facilitate some additional one-on-one time with my daughter. The short time it takes for us to talk through these exercises - after she's completed them on her own - gives me more insight into her level of understanding and progress. It also, selfishly, allows me to see if I have been teaching her well. (I'm looking forward to using the 6-Trait Writing and Word Problems books.)

excellent resource - Lisa - Az
As a resource teacher, this has become a very important part of my writing program. It helps reinforce the skills students continue to need reinforcement on as well as touch on skills like parts of speech, simile/metaphor, reference materials, etc. I use it with my 5th graders to help touch on skills they are learning in their general ed. classes. I already had 1st-4th grade daily language, and I use them as well.

Practice and review - T. Allred - MS-US
I find these Daily practice books invaluable. The Daily Language review provides a non-threatening way to introduce new skills and allows students to practice without fear of "failing". They also allow for students to compete against themselves to improve skills.

Excellent Language Resource - Angelic B. Berry - Camp Zama, Japan USA
I am a school-based speech pathologist, so I use the "Oral Language For Daily Use, Grade 6" (OLDU) to supplement work classroom teachers assign during their Language Arts instruction. The lessons are quick and can easily be modified to meet my needs during individualized therapy. This resource is an excellent resource for quick review of language skills!
